A few words of gratitude from a 14-year-old girl and her mother made me feel as if I have won one of the greatest awards in my life. This is my gratitude post.
The girl’s mother is facing challenges financially and socially in her life. Since the girl seems to fail her exams and was not focusing on her studies. The mother was planning to stop her schooling ( the girl is currently in 9th standard). Before going ahead with her decision the mother wanted me to talk with her daughter.
A few weeks after coaching and counseling both the daughter and the mother came to me with big smiles on their faces. The girl said that she started studying and now has got 9th rank in her class. It is the first time that she got a rank after 5 years. She received a standing ovation in her class and appreciation from her school principal. I felt as if I received the greatest award.
The most commendable aspect is the willingness of both mother and daughter to change and come forward to take action to make their life better. What I did was bring about awareness and a perspective change.
I am inspired by the mother and daughter who had a great level of acceptance and the courage to take action to bring about better change in their lives. They also wanted me to share this as their testimony to inspire hope in others. Now the girl has mentioned that she will get within the top 5 ranks and meet me once again. I am eagerly waiting for that day.
